Having just got back from the Trade Fair in Sydney I thought I’d post photos illustrating our booth when I got there – a bare black box – to when fully decked out with our red display stands, maps and the Journey Jottings banner flying over head…
However, in the process of taking a short-cut by importing and deleting off the camera all in one go, I managed to loose the lot 🙁
After commiserating over a delicious hot buttery crumpet with blackberry jam 🙂 I set off on the rebound for a evening walk with camera in hand and was treated to the most beautiful bevy of fungi & toadstools all popping up as we head into autumn ~
Now lets be honest ~ What would you rather look at? A trade fair, or these wonderful creations of nature? 😉
Sand still perched on the top of this one having freshly popped its head up!
Is this a puffball pushing its way up?
This one looked like an anemone
Another puffball?
This one looks like a natural sponge!
What an amazing variety and in such sandy soil 🙂
Much nicer to look at than a trade fair! I am amazd at the variety. You must have fairies at the bottom of your garden!?
I must confess when I got back and downloaded the photos I was quite surprised by how many different varieties I’d seen –
I think it was having spotted one and gone ‘Ooooo look!’ my eyes suddenly opened to them and I started seeing them everywhere! 😀
You sure have a variety of toadstools and puffballs there Linda! The humus build-up from the eucalyptus, banksia leaves, and bracken fern must be ideal for them. There’s a couple of mushrooms there as well. A few shovels-full of that soil kept damp in a box under the house would be ideal to grow your own mushrooms in 🙂 Some excellent photography there by the way!!
