Scotland ~ 1st week

I flew into Scotland over snow capped mountains this time last week ~

People always say…

“The temperature must be a bit of a shock to the system isn’t it  coming from the end of a summer in Australia?”

But of course quickly swapping over sandles and short sleeved shirts to wooly tights and boots, with layers of long sleeved garments topped with waistcoats and scarves  I actually find it quite an entertaining novelty wearing such a bevy of coloured layers to accomodate the cooler climes!

The extra effort of the dressing is also rewarded by the seasonal flowers that are made all the more special when you know you are only going to see them for a few treasured weeks each year ~

I have been greeted by mounds of of beautiful snowdrops and crocuses (should that be croci plural?)

Simply gorgeous :)

  1. Some great photos Linda and yours of the snowdrops are the second ones I’ve seen this week. Friends from Dorset emailed some through. They said with the winter freeze they experienced, the snowdrops are doing beautifully. Enjoy your trip! :-)

  2. Charley ~ So true! :)
Kirsty ~ Yes, I think the harder winter has resulted in a far better display of snowdrops this year – I’ll be interested to see if this theory will hold true for the daffodils, which come next followed by the bluebells :D
